Baaki is made by Jayesh Kugsiya, an individual developer in India. This policy explains what Baaki collects, why, and how you control it.
Your transactions, categories, budgets, loans, groups and splits are stored only on your device. Baaki does not upload them, except the masked bank messages described under AI Category Suggestions. If you delete the app, they are deleted with it.
On Android, Baaki can read SMS from bank sender IDs and notifications from a fixed list of payment apps. On iPhone, a Shortcuts automation you set up can pass alert text to Baaki. Baaki reads these on your device to create draft entries. The text leaves your phone only if you turn on AI category suggestions.
This is off until you turn it on, and it needs an account. When Baaki can't tell what a payment was for, it sends the shop name, the amount, the bank message and your category names to our server. Account numbers, UPI IDs and reference numbers are hidden on your phone first. Payments to people are never sent.
Our server passes the masked text to Claude, an AI model from Anthropic, which suggests a category. Anthropic doesn't train on it and may keep it for a limited time under its commercial terms. Our server doesn't store it. It only counts your requests, up to 30 a day.
You can use Baaki without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, our server stores:
To confirm requests come from the genuine Baaki app, the server uses Apple App Attest and Google Play Integrity. It stores a device key identifier and public key for iPhones. It keeps a fingerprint of each Android integrity token for 10 minutes to stop reuse. It counts requests per IP address to limit abuse.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or share it for marketing.
Open Settings, then Baaki Account, then Delete Account. This deletes your account, sessions and device keys from our server right away, and disconnects Baaki from your Apple ID if you used Sign in with Apple. Your ledger on the phone is kept.
If you no longer have the app, email jkugsiya11@gmail.com from your account's email address. We delete your account within 30 days.
Baaki is meant for people aged 18 and over.
If Baaki starts collecting anything new, this page changes first and the date above is updated.
